CENTER-BASED ABA THERAPY
STRIVE’s center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provides individualized, evidence-based treatment for children who demonstrate clinically significant skill deficits and/or behaviors that interfere with daily functioning, learning, and participation in everyday environments. Services are delivered in a structured, supportive clinic setting and are designed and supervised by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
ABA therapy may be provided under comprehensive or focused treatment models, depending on the child’s assessed needs:
Comprehensive ABA treatment is appropriate for children with widespread skill deficits across multiple developmental domains and typically involves approximately 20–40 hours per week of treatment. Comprehensive treatment includes direct therapy services and caregiver training and support to promote consistency, skill generalization, and carryover across environments.
Focused ABA treatment targets a limited number of specific behaviors or skill areas and typically involves approximately 12–19 hours per week of treatment. Focused treatment also includes caregiver training and support, when clinically indicated, to ensure strategies are implemented consistently and treatment goals are supported beyond the clinic setting.
Treatment type, intensity, and duration are determined through a comprehensive clinical assessment and are directly tied to functional impairments, measurable goals, and medically necessary outcomes.
Center-based ABA therapy, including caregiver training and support, is considered a medically necessary service when treatment addresses functional impairments and meets authorization criteria established by the funding source. Services are most commonly funded through health insurance or Medicaid, with eligibility determined by diagnosis, medical necessity, and prior authorization requirements.
